Update On Links

March 18, 2013 - I'm now using various file sites with varying success. With over 200 albums listed here, obviously I cannot upload everything at once. So if you're dying to hear something, please post a comment on that particular post and I will move it up in the priority queue. Enjoy!

Chegou!

Chegou! Good news - well, the best actually. After approximately 4800 miles our stuff arrived this past Saturday and the turntable, 78s and cds are intact. Carnaval begins tomorrow night, so next week I'll begin posting more from my collection. And thanks to a ton of bubble wrap and sturdy boxes, there is still a lot of great Chick Bullock music to hear. :-)

That is great news Chester. I am going to go through a move soon as well, but mine is 5 HOURS not 5THOUSAND MILES. Big difference.

Best news is that your 78s arrived intact. When we moved continents 24 years ago I left my entire collection of 78s behind (in a good home), not trusting that any of them would survive.

Mel, Before I packed my 78s I contacted a well-known dealer on the best way to protect them. He suggested about 15 records secured between sturdy cardboard. I doubled the cardboard, and bubble-wrapped each set of 15 and then put two packs into one box with more bubblewrap and popcorn. It meant a lot of boxes, but I haven't found a single broken record yet, which is the most important thing.

Mario, Carnaval was fantastic. What else can be said that isn't redundant? I can't wait for next year. You have some good Carnaval in Madrid & Barcelona too, don't you?
